2016 Wimbledon multi picks for men’s quarter finals, July 6

Wimbledon 2016
THE Australian charge dwindled at Wimbledon 2016 over the last two days, with both Bernard Tomic and Nick Kyrgios suffering defeat.

The man that punished Kyrgios in straight sets was Andy Murray, who will be in action on Wednesday night when he takes on energetic Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Also on the card is Roger Federer, who now has a good chance of adding another grand slam to the list. He faces Marin Cilic, who is no pushover, and the bookmakers have kept him safe in the market.

Our multi-bet will also include the match-up between Milos Raonic and Sam Querrey, the latter of whom toppled over Novak Djokovic earlier in the week.

Wimbledon Day 9 multi tips

Leg 1: Roger Federer ($1.34) vs. Marin Cilic ($3.29)

Federer hasn’t dropped a set in reaching the quarter finals, but he hasn’t exactly faced any opponent worth mentioning.

The former world no.1 dropped only 10 games when defeating Steve Johnson in round four and appears to be on target to capture that elusive 18th grand slam. In his way is Croatian Marin Cilic, who will be well-rested after his round four game.

Cilic won the first set 6-1 and was 5-1 up in the second set against Kei Nishikori before the Japanese star retired. That gives Cilic a soft road into the quarters and the 2014 US Open winner has the game to beat the world’s best.

Some punters will see the $1.34 for Federer and think that’s good value, some will disagree, but we think getting 34 cents on the dollar for Roger is a solid deal.

Leg 2: Sam Querrey ($3.20) vs. Milos Raonic ($1.35)

Querrey was two sets down in the opening round to Lucas Rosol before fighting back and taking the fifth set 12-10. Now he finds himself on the cusp of a grand slam semi final.

The American caused the upset of the year when defeating Djokovic in four sets and he didn’t show any signs of slowing down against Nicholas Mahut in the fourth round. He beat the Frenchman in straight sets and will now face Milos Raonic, who will need all the rest he can get.

William Hill multi bonus

Raonic came from two sets down to battle past Daniel Goffin and won’t have much time to recover. Bookmakers are heavily favouring the Canadian, who has reached as high as no.4 in the world, but there has been some specking for Querrey at the longer price.

Both players have a similar playing style. They possess big serves, which could make breaking very tough, but the class and coaching from Raonic should see him over the line.

There is no value in the head-to-head market, so take Raonic to cover the -3.5 games line at $1.72.

Leg 3: Jo-Wilfried Tsonga ($6.70) vs. Andy Murray ($1.11)

Murray has cruised into the quarters with straight sets victories to date. The Scot took apart Australia’s Nick Kyrgios on Tuesday morning and the two-time grand slam champion should be able to cope with the inconsistent game of Tsonga.

Jo-Wilfried benefitted in round four from the early retirement of Richard Gasquet, who bowed out after just six games. His match prior wasn’t the same story, however, as the Frenchman was forced to a fifth-set thriller which ended in 19-17.

The handicap market is where the majority of punters will be looking. Murray is currently -6.5 with Sportsbet, which requires him to dominate the entire match. We’re expecting Tsonga to put up a fight and take the first couple of sets to tie-breaks.

Multi-bet:

Federer to win – $1.34
Raonic -3.5 – $1.72
Tsonga +6.5 – $1.61
