A LONG time ago in a sunburnt country far, far away.
Sportsbet.com.au has opened a market on the new Star Wars movie, rating the Northern Territory an $8 chance to be the place filming begins.
Uluru ($2.50) is the leading candidate to be the first shooting location ahead of Kakadu ($3.00) with Fannie Bay Racecourse ($51) an outside chance.
“Uluru looks like something from a galaxy far far away so it makes sense they’d be interested in filming there and we’re not ruling it out just yet,” Byrne said.
And the bookie thinks the likes of Jessica Mauboy could be in line for a role – at the hefty odds of $101.
If it does happen, it won’t be the first time a Star Wars film is shot Down Under, with Episode II: Attack of the Clones, almost entirely filmed on the continent.
