CrownBet strikes Racing Victoria deal ahead of spring carnival

AUSTRALIAN online bookmaker Crownbet has been announced as the premier wagering partner for Racing Victoria and the Seven network for next 16 months.

The deal will see CrownBet broadcast all of the Victorian race meets via a non-exclusive agreement which currently runs until the end of next year.

The partnership, which comes into effect on the 31st of August, will ensure that Crownbet will continue to have a strong presence across all the Victorian race meets.

Crownbet CEO Matthew Tripp believes the company has received a great endorsement by Seven and Racing Victoria in selecting his company to push forward with the rights.

“It was a thorough and competitive process and we’re delighted Racing Victoria and the Seven Network have chosen CrownBet as their Premier Wagering Partner,” Mr Tripp said.

One of the newest online bookmakers in the country, Crownbet has been fighting to gain a share of the already-flooded marketplace.

With this new agreement, Tripp is adamant Crownbet can forge its way to the top of the online betting community in Australia.

“This partnership will allow us to reach a wide audience right across Australia, and will play an important role in our mission to become the leading operator in the sector.”

The new partnership gives another dimension to Crownbet’s already growing portfolio of advertising and broadcasting in Australia.

In December of 2014 it was announced that Crownbet was the official wagering partner of the AFL until 2019.

Crownbet was the final piece of the puzzle for what has been a long-standing ordeal in the racing industry following the disintegration of the on-going agreement with Sky Racing and Racing Victoria which went up in flames this year.

A deal with Seven will pave the way for racing enthusiasts to access live vision of Victorian race meets.

Racing Victoria Chief Executive Bernard Saundry believes the new agreement ushers in a new era in Australian thoroughbred racing.

“This is an historic day for the industry with all the Victorian clubs now united.” Mr Saundry said.

Under the agreement, Crownbet account holders will be able to view Victorian thoroughbred races live when they log onto the website or via their smartphone or tablet.

Mr Saundry believes the agreement will benefit all parties in the long run.

“We are pleased to partner with Crownbet in an agreement which supports our objective of achieving a broader distribution of Victorian thoroughbred racing to support growth and engagement,” Mr Saundry said.

“This paves the way for the Victorian industry to achieve its future goal of ensuring that Victorian thoroughbred racing can be viewed in every lounge room and on every mobile phone across Australia.”

Under the agreement, Crownbet will take the Racing Live broadcast of Victorian races that is produced by the Victorian thoroughbred racing industry-owned Thoroughbred Racing Productions.

Live streaming on Crownbet’s digital platforms will commence three minutes before the scheduled start time of each Victorian TAB race and conclude 90 seconds after the completion of the race.
